Cliff Leather Finish in Black
The cliff's outer shell is made of ABS plastic which is the commonly used
material in helmet manufacturing. This makes the helmet tough enough to
withstand crashes. The cliff has been approved by the Indian Standards Institute
and carries the ISI mark.

The helmet has a cool swept back look which gives it a sporty appeal. The
Cliff and Cliff DX has four vents two in the front near the riders mouth for
fresh air intake and two on the back for pushing out the heat, these are
enclosed by a wire mesh.

Vega has not made these vents adjustable and hence one
cannot close the vents if he/she feels cold . Another thing the helmet is
missing are the vents near the fore head which would have been a savior during
the hot Indian summers. We guess the they chose to do so in order to make the
lid more pocket friendly.
Vega claims that the helmet is scratch resistant. During our normal use we
found that the Cliff leather finish tends to resist scratches however the Cliff
DX paint job is easily susceptible to scratches.
The Cliff and Cliff DX comes with a plain visor as standard which is
scratch resistant (not scratch proof) meant to prevent minor scratches.
Optional visors are available in Rainbow, Mercury, Chrome and Smoke finish.

We are also happy to see that Vega has left out the old school screw in
visor which required a screw driver and a lot of effort to change the visor.
They have smartly implemented the twist and pull mechanism to change the visors
easily without the use of any tools.

Moving to the insides of the helmet a quick look and the quality might
leave you a bit disappointed.

You can see excess glue seeping out from the
edges. The foam padding seems to be left out in certain places. Overall from
the inside it does not feel up to the mark compared to the other models
available in the market around the same price range.
The chin strap on the Cliff comes equipped with a quick release seat belt
type fastener and not the traditional double d-ring type. Both the fasteners
have their pros and cons, but it depends on the users preference.

Cliff DX in Dull Black and Gloss Black
The only difference between the Cliff and the Cliff DX is the paint job. The
Cliff has a leather finish and is available in black, red and white while the
DX is available in Carbon Black, Pearl White, Blue, Dull Blue, Burgundy, Dull
Burgundy, Anthracite and Dull Anthracite .
Affordability : The helmets have been well priced by Vega with the Cliff
carrying an MRP. of Rs. 809/- and the Cliff DX retailing for MRP Rs. 890/-
Final Verdict :
The cliff has been well designed. It feels compact and fits well. The light
weight shell makes the lid comfortable for daily commuting as well as long
rides. We do wish that Vega ups the quality on the inside and improves the
padding. Overall the pros outweighs the cons and hence we strongly recommend
the Cliff/Cliff DX if you are shopping with a budget of 1k.
