Resqtech Car Washer (8 Litre manual car/bike washer)

Resqtech 8 Litre pressure washer

Our take : The most economic and compact washer available in Indian market.

Features : No running water or electricity required, multiple attachment options, easy to operate, multipurpose.

Living in a residential complex, electricity output and running water in the parking lot is a problem to majority of the people. Unless you are a millionaire and own a mansion, you hardly get the privilege to wash your bike/car using a pressure washers such as a Bosch Aquatek or Kracher, which require running water connection and power supply.
So what we all end up doing is to give the vehicle either in a service station (which is becoming expensive day by day) or take a bucket of water and a cloth and do the work yourself.

Enter Resqtech 8 litre manual pressure washer. A compact and smart looking portable washer.  The product (Resqtech Car Washer) is manufactured by Resqtech in collaboration with CBS systems.
What's the difference?  It does not require running water neither electricity.
So how does it work ?

It's a container fixed with a pump. You turn the handle of the pump anti clockwise to unscrew the hand pump tube.

You can then fill water in the container. Make sure you don't fill up to the brim. Screw the hand pump tube back inside by turning it clockwise.

Once it is tightly fit pull the handle up and start pumping. This will create an air pressure inside the container and force the water through the rubber tube attached to it. Pump until it becomes hard and screw the handle back in.

You can now use the knob on the hose to spray water as per your requirement.

You can press and move the knob on the hose to the front till it locks if you want a continuous spray or press and release if you want short burst.

First impression:

The product is sturdy as claimed, the materials used and the fit and finish is the top notch.

You get multiple attachments with the washer such as the replaceable brush and the garden hose.

You also get a microfiber cloth in order to wipe your vehicle without leaving any marks behind.

Filling the water and walking down the apartment stairs is an easy task with this washer as you don't have water spilling all around which is the case while carrying the bucket. And the pump doubles up as a handle which makes it a delight to get one of these.

Using the product without any attachment is of no use as it would just pour the water out of the hose like a garden pipe. Attach the replaceable brush and you will realize what you were missing.

The brush has two nozzles one on each side of the brush which gives an excellent mist spray, but don't expect the pressure to be as high as the electric pressure washers or the washers used at the service station. Remember this is a manual pressure washer designed to save water.

Owing to the nozzles on the brush you can spray water and brush the dirt away at the same time. The bristles are soft so it removes the dirt but doesn't harm the paint. The Best part about the brush is that you can clean nooks and corners of the bike like the engine area and behind the number plate as the bristles easily slide inside, while in a car you can easily clean the grooves in the front grille, crevices below the door, hood, boot etc.

Another thing which I would love to point out is that this product makes it pretty easy to clean the wheels too.  It is one place I hate to clean with a bucket and cloth as you get muck and dirt on your hand and its difficult to clean the alloys.  This product does it with ease and no issues at all.
The garden hose also comes in handy if you want to wash below the mudguard of a motorcycle or the wheel arches of the car.

Do note that the pressure drops gradually so you do have to pump the washer again as an when it drops. Hence, don't expect to pump couple of times initially and expect the washer to run for an hour.

I also found that bird droppings on the vehicle which has dried up is not something you would expect this washer to remove. So my advise carry some car/bike wash liquid diluted in water in a small bottle pour little all over the vehicle use the washer to spray and make it foamy use the brush and the pressurized water in order to make tough stains go away.  You will be amazed at the result.

Once you have done with your cleaning, you can pull the safety valve on the top of the washer which releases remaining the air.

Resqtech claims that you can wash two hatchbacks or a single SUV with 8 litres of water, I found it is possible if you can control your finger against the nozzle or if you vehicle is not that dirty. I could wash an hatch back (really dirty one) and a motorcycle with 8 litres easily even though I used the water generously.

For people who want something more, a higher capacity 14 litre option is also available.

Both products come with one set of replacement washer's and ring which will be handy due to regular wear and tear. A small metal key has also been provided in order to adjust or clean the nozzle if they get clogged over a period of time. Additionally majority of the components are available as spares. If that isn't enough to put a smile on your face, you also get one year warranty through the company.

Affordability :

The 8 litre manual washer carries an MRP of Rs.2495 /- while the 14 litre option retails for Rs. 3395/-. Currently, Resqtech is running a promotional offer and you can grab these at Rs. 1995 /- (8 Litre) or Rs. 2695 /-.

Final verdict :

Just go for it, it is the best option available currently in the Indian market. Pocket friendly, saves water/electricity and is portable to carry around.

Vega Off-road Helmet Review

Our take : One of best looking off-road helmet manufactured in India.

Features: Well Ventilated, available with built in goggles, Detachable Washable Interior, EPS Padding, Scratch Resistant helmet and visor.

Vega is consistently launching eye catching models and the same can be said about the Vega off-road.
                                                                                Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The helmet shell is made from ABS plastic, strong enough to prevent injuries in a crash. Small bits of plastics improve the visual appeal of the helmet, however the quality is not the best available in the market.
                                    Photograph by : Ribino Jose

Just like any other off-road helmet the Vega off-road comes with a sun peak. The positive side being is provides good shade while riding, however on the downside causes stability issues at high speed due to wind resistance. Vega has provided air scoops to keep the helmet stable, however it does not eliminate the issue. Fortunately it is held in place with three screws and can be removed if not required.

                                                                               Photograph by : Ribino Jose

Coming to the quality of the lid, its not one of the best we have seen. Unlike the Axor series Vega has cut corners on the finish of this helmet. You can find the uneven finish on the sun peak and the rubber linings.

                                  Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The helmet has adequate ventilation with three fixed vent on the front and three on the rear. This helps in optimum airflow and keeps the head cool on those hot summer days.

                                     Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The off-road was initially launched without a visor and a second model with a built in goggle. Vega has recently launched the off-road with the visor and a second model with visor and built in goggles.

We were disappointed with the fact that Vega has not provided quick release mechanism for visor on the off-road and hence one will require a screw driver in order to swap the visor.
The visor provided by default is a clear one, however Vega does provide optional visors in Rainbow ,Mercury and Smoke.

                                   Photograph by : Ribino Jose

On the inside the foam padding seems to be adequate and the helmet feels a bit roomy owing to the off-road design. People using a regular full face helmet may take a while to adapt to the off-road design. The interior is detachable and washable which will help in keeping the interiors fresh.
The chinstrap on the off-road is the regular quick release seat-belt type found on all the Vega Models.

The lid is ISI certified and the ISI mark can be found on the rear of the helmet.

                                    Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The off-road is available in both solid colours (White, Black, Dull Black, Blue, Dull Blue, Red, Dull Red, Cherry Red, Burgundy, Dull Burgundy, Anthracite, Dull Anthracite, Silver, Yellow) and graphics.

                                                                                Photograph by : Ribino Jose

Affordability : Coming to the part which is the most important for all riders. The off-road has different variants priced as follows.
Solid Colour with/without Visor - Rs. 1565/-
Solid Colour with/without Visor with built in goggles - Rs. 1790/-
Graphics with/without Visor - Rs. 1790/-
Graphics with/without Visor with built in goggles - Rs. 2060/-

Final Verdict :

The off-road is the best when it comes to styling as it is available in a variety of colours which will help you to match your bike irrespective of the make and model. It is good for riding in city traffic, however it's not the best lid to opt for if you ride on the highways or above 80 kmph. So if you have a budget between 1.5k to 2k and want to buy something trendy, the Vega off-road might be the lid for you.

Vega Cliff Air Helmet Review

Review of Cliff Air

Our Take : Budget helmet with adjustable vents

Features : Light weight , Scratch resistant helmet and Glass, easy to remove visors, compact design, adjustable vents.

Also See : Studds Chrome, Steel Bird Adonis, Cliff / Cliff DX

                                                                               Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The Cliff Air is a slight improvement over its predecessor the Cliff and Cliff DX.
There is not much difference between the Cliff Air and the Cliff /Cliff DX. It carries the same ABS shell coupled with the scratch resistant material and hence makes the helmet durable and light weight. It is approved by the Indian Standards Institute and carries the ISI mark near the cheek.

                                  Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The helmet looks similar to the cliff and the Cliff DX with is swept back looks. Moving to the vents and you can spot the difference, Vega has provided adjustable vents on the helmet.

The helmet has two adjustable vents, one near the riders mouth and another near the forehead.

                                                                             Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The lid also has two fixed vents on the back (similar to the Cliff Air) for pushing out the heat, these are enclosed by a wire mesh.

                                                                              Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The Cliff Air comes with a plain visor as standard which is scratch resistant meant to prevent minor scratches. You can also choose from optional Rainbow, Mercury, Chrome and Smoke finish visors. The twist and pull mechanism to change the visors without the use of any tools has been carried over from the Cliff/Cliff DX to the Cliff Air.

                                                                             Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The quality on the inside of the helmet hasn't changed, we can still spot excess glue around the edges.

                                                                                Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The protective foam padding feels inferior to the ones provided by the competitors.

                                     Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The chin strap on the Cliff comes equipped with a quick release seat belt type fastener.
The Lid is available in White, Red and Black Leather finish.

Affordability : The helmet carries a price tag of MRP Rs. 890/- in india.

Final Verdict :
The cliff Air has been well designed just like the Cliff / Cliff DX. The adjustable vents add to the functionality and comfort. The scratch resistant visor and leather finish is an advantage to daily commuters. We will recommend it for people looking for maximum comfort within 1K.

Vega Axor Helmet Review

Our take : One of the best looking helmets manufactured and available in India.

Features: Well Ventilated, quick release visor, Detachable Washable Interior, EPS Padding, Scratch Resistant Helmet and glass.

Also See: Studds Scorpion

                                                          Photograph by : Ribino Jose

Claimed to be designed in America by Daytona Helmets And developed in Italy in  Technical Collaboration with Compact Compositi, Vega has finally started to take the right steps with the Axor.

                                      Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The helmet shell made of ABS looks strong enough to prevent injuries even in an event of a high speed crash. The shell has a sharp lines running from both the cheeks till the rear of the helmet. Additionally the quality of beading at the bottom of the lid is top notch.

                                       Photograph by : Ribino Jose

Vega has also done an excellent work in the ventilation section by placing an adjustable vent near the riders mouth ,two fixed vents near the chin, dual port adjustable (two individual air take inlets) vents on the top and two fixed exhaust vents at the rear to push out the heat.

                                                                                 Photograph by : Ribino Jose

We were a bit disappointed with the plastic quality on the vents especially the one near the mouth. The slider to close the vent near the mouth was broken on the first unit we received. This could be a manufacturing fault as we have since not seen this issue on any of the other units, however this does not overlook the fact that the plastic used for the vents seems to be a bit fragile.

                                                                                Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The Axor comes fitted with a scratch resistant Visor with a Mercury finish. Vega also provides optional Clear,Rainbow and Smoke finished visors for the lid.

                                                                                Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The Visor comes with a quick release mechanism which makes it easy to swap visors without the use of tool. It did seem difficult to remove it for the first time but it is quite simple once you know how it works.

                                                                                Photograph by : Ribino Jose

Take a look on the inside of the helmet and you will realise that Vega has left no stones unturned, from the EPS padding to detachable washable interior and the high quality materials used, everything radiates comfort and style.

We were happy to see that Vega has also thrown in a breath guard to reduce the fogging on the visor. A breath guard deflects the hot air exhaled by us away from visor and towards the vents this reduces the fog on the Visor and keeps the vision clean.

                                                                                Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The chinstrap on the Axor is the regular quick release seat belt type found on all the Vega Models.

Vega also manages to score in the certification department as the lid is both ISI and D.O.T certified.

                                                                                Photograph by : Ribino Jose

The Axor is available in both Solid colours (Black, Dull Black and White) and Graphics. Though the graphics seem to inspired (to put it more diplomatically) from the LS2 brand of helmets, they do compliment the Axor well.

                                                                                Photograph by : Ribino Jose

Affordability: The Axor in solid colours is available for MRP 2186 while the graphics can be bought for MRP 2393

Final Verdict: The Axor is an excellent piece of craftsmanship with very little flaws. Though majority of the Indians will find the helmet to be a bit pricey but the Axor does justify the amount. Over all if you have the moolah and want a helmet with excellent looks and good quality  within the 2.5K range Axor is the one for you.
